Learn To Write Fiction: World-Building

Learn how to create cultures, languages, the physical world and its maps, aliens and other creatures, as well as magic systems and technology for your sci-fi or fantasy novel in this 7-week course.

This free course is offered by Peer 2 Peer University (P2PU). The focus of P2PU classes is peer learning. Information, reading materials, and homework are presented by a course facilitator. Classes are not taught and the facilitator is not an instructor. Course facilitators are members of the class who organize materials and assist in leading discussions. Participants are expected to learn from the readings and each other through collaborative social activities. P2PU is a distributed organization incorporated as a 501(c)3 in the United States. Dates: Tuesday, July 27th  thru Tuesday, October 19th
Time: 6:30 pm
Location: Potlatch Library, Conference Room, 1010 Onaway Rd, Potlatch, ID 83855
Facilitator: Khaliela Wright

Course meets in-person beginning Tuesday, July 27th and will continue meeting every other Tuesday for seven sessions, concluding with the last session on Tuesday, October 19th. Space is limited to 10 people and pre-registration is required. To register contact the Potlatch Library at 208-875-1036 and leave a message for Lana.

Critique @ Shari's Cafe and Pies

This is a dedicated critique group that meets in the back of Shari’s. Meet at 6:30 PM for dinner, critiques usually start about 7:00 PM. They mostly focus on novels and longer works, but short stories are also welcome. Fiction/Nonfiction okay. If you come, bring copies of your work with you to pass out to be critiqued at the next meeting.
