Despite NaNoWriMo being online (again) this year, the Palouse Writers Guild is still encouraging local writers to connect and share. We have partnered with the Potlatch Public Library and Troy Public Library to host “Motivational Mondays” for those community members who wish to participate in a “curbside” NaNoWriMo program. Budding writers will receive the emotional support needed to see them through the end of the month by picking up grab bags to keep them motivated.
Each Monday in November a new NaNoWriMo packet will be available for pick-up at the Potlatch and Troy libraries. These motivational packs include:
- Writer games and crafts
- NaNoWriMo swag
- Small candy/snack
- Words of encouragement from local published authors.
Those writers who finish the month will be rewarded with a TGIO (Thank God It’s Over) Party Pack which will include celebratory items and a FREE BOOK* compliments of BookPeople of Moscow.

NaNoWriMo rules state nothing can be writting before November 1st, but extensive notes and preping is encouraged. Check out the NaNo Prep 101 to develop an outline before writing starts. Also, The Novel Factory has a number of nifty worksheets to help budding writers organize their ideas before beginning their novel.
*Books are advance reader copies. Titles yet to be determined.
